ONEONTA, NY – The RIT wrestling team (6-10) fell to Oneonta State (9-10), 40-12 on Saturday afternoon on the campus of SUNY Oneonta.
Brad Mayville (Marion, NY/Wayne),
Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) and
Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne) each picked up wins for the Tigers. Both Mayville and Cain improve to 21-4 on the season.
After forfeiting the first three weight classes, RIT got on the board when Mayville pinned Nicholas Hesk at 2:41 at 14p lbs.. It was Mayville's ninth pinfall victory of the 2014-15 campaign.
After an Oneonta win via pinfall, Greenquist picked up a victory at 165 lbs., defeating Mitchell Fisher 9-2. With the win, Greenquist improves to 21-6 on the season. Cain defeated Shaun Gillen, 2-0 for his 21st win of the season.
RIT will will close out the regular season next Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Si Ostrach Meet hosted by Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. RIT will face Thiel at Thiel College at noon, Case Western Reserve and 2 p.m., and wrap up the day versus Muskingum University at 4 p.m.
