Jordan Ruby (Tavistock, Ontario/Wellington Dukes) picked up the shutout win, the third of his career and was named Homecoming Game MVP.

"We came out tonight and played with a lot more effort," said RIT head coach Wayne Wilson. "We didn't have a let down and played for 60 minutes."

Brad McGowan (Langley, British Columbia/Surrey Eagles) and Mark Golberg (Ottawa, Ontario/Cumberland Grads) scored for RIT, Josh Mitchell (Osoyoos, British Columbia/Alberni Valley Bulldogs), Garbowsky, Caleb Cameron (Sunridge, Ontario/Listowel Cyclones) and Chase Norrish (Strongfield, Saskatchewan/Yorkton Terriers) each had assists for the Tigers who out shot Holy Cross 32-16. RIT came out strong in the first period despite not scoring a goal. The Tigers fired 10 shots on net from nine different players. Michael Holland (Cambridge, MA/Chicago Steel) had two of RIT's 10 shots, including one from the top of the face-off circle that Ginn was able to save. Myles Powell (Courtenay, British Columbia/Cowichan Valley Capitals) had a great chance in the first when he got free in front of the Holy Cross net and fired a shot as he dove across the crease that Ginn saved.

RIT struck 52 seconds into the second period on McGowan's 11th goal of the season. Garbowsky started the play with a feed to Mitchell at the point. Mitchell fed a pass over to McGowan who fired a wrist shot past Ginn giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Garbowsky now has 100 points on 43 goals and 57 assists for his career and 40 points this season on 21 goals and 19 assists.

The Tigers would continue its strong play, breaking through late in the period on Golberg's second goal of the season. Golberg took a pass from Cameron along the dasher boards and flung a shot at the net that beat Ginn to the short side giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Chase Norrish (Strongfield, Saskatchewan/Yorkton Terriers) had the second assist on the play.
