RIT took an early lead when Francis scored off a feed from Mandell at the 28:39 mark of the first half giving RIT a 1-0 edge. DaCosta broke the Geneseo run with a free position goal at 21:29 of the first half, cutting the Geneseo lead to 3-2.

The Knights rattled off six straight goals, taking a 9-2 lead on Hart's fourth goal of the half with 3:54 to play. Hettel added a late goal for RIT off an assist from Caruso, cutting Geneseo's lead to 9-3 at the half.
