ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (4-7) wrestling team defeated Alfred State College, 33-12 from Clark Gymnasium on the campus of RIT on Saturday afternoon. Seven different Tigers won events on the afternoon.

Winners for RIT included Rory Bruce (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) (133 lbs.), Jake Sepor (Stafford, NY/Pavilion) (141 lbs.), Won Kim (Millbrae, CA/Mills) (149 lbs.), Brad Mayville (Marion, NY/Wayne) (157 lbs.), Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) (174 lbs.), Tim Thurnau (Nampa, ID/Nampa) (197 lbs.) and Eddie McBride (Germantown, MD/Northwest) (285 lbs.)

Austin Keough (125 lbs.), Konnor Kremer (165 lbs.) and Connor Fox (184 lbs.) were winners for the Pioneers.

McBride got RIT off to a strong start with a 5-1 win over Daniel Ognibene at 285 lbs.

Keough picked up a 7-0 decision over Flanagan at 125 lbs., tying the score at 3-3 after two bouts.

The Tigers rattled off four straight wins beginning with Bruce picking up a pinfall at 2:10 over Jason Charlette at 133 lbs. Sepor picked up an 11-1 major decision over Tyler Aldinger at 141 lbs.

Kim defeated Cody Marriott, 7-1 at 149 lbs., and Mayville picked up a pinfall over Kevin Thayer at 157 lbs. at 1:52. With the win, Mayville improves to 25-7 on the season. Greenquist picked up a 17-0 technical fall over Josh Lord at 174 lbs., while Thurnau pinned Matt Sowers at 3:26 at 197 lbs.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, February 8 when the Tigers compete at the Baldwin Wallace Tournament in Berea, Ohio.
