Women's soccer shuts out Bard 3-0 on Saturday

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's soccer team downed Bard 3-0 in Liberty League action from Tiger Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers are now 4-0-0 all-time versus Bard.

Anka Parzych (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), Cailtyn Daly and Maxine Culhane (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) each scored for the Tigers, while Hayley Cromwell (Cave Creek, AZ/Pinnacle) added an assist.  Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) got the win in net for RIT making one save. Senior Emma Esposito (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) played the final 7:37 in net for RIT.

Shots were 22-4 in favor of RIT who took four corner kicks to two for the Raptors. Kelsey O'Brien took the loss in net for Bard, making eight saves.

The Tigers got on the board in the 40th minute when Parzych broke through for her first goal of the season. She took the rebound off her own shot inside the Bard penalty area and beat O'Brien over her head, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
 
Early in the second half, Daly gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead on her first goal of the season. She dribbled through and around a slew of Bard defenders down the left flank finally getting free from 20 yards out. Daly bombed a shot that beat O'Brien into the top left corner for a 2-0 RIT lead.

Culhane capped the scoring on her first goal of the season off a feed from Cromwell in the 77th minute. Cromwell got by her defender on the right side and took the ball to the end line. She sent a service across the goal to Culhane who took a touch and tapped her shot home for a 3-0 lead.

RIT has outscored Bard 11-1 in the four meetings between the two programs. The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 when the Tigers face St. Lawrence University at 3 p.m. in Canton, N.Y.
