CANTON, NY -- Senior 
Kiana Richards (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) tallied in the 89th minute as the RIT (5-2-5, 1-1-2 Liberty League) women's soccer team tied St. Lawrence University (8-4-1, 1-2-1 Liberty League) 1-1 in Liberty League action from Canton, N.Y. Saturday afternoon. It was her first goal of the season and second of her career.
Shots were 22-12 in favor of St. Lawrence. The Tigers took four corner kicks to three for the Saints. 
Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) picked up the tie in net making nine saves. Kelsey West made two saves in net for St. Lawrence.
After a scoreless first half, the Saints broke through when Emily DePoy scored off a feed from Lindsay Geier giving St. Lawrence a 1-0 lead. DePoy scored on a strike from outside the RIT penalty area with a bender over Murray's head.
RIT kept up the pressure finally breaking through in the 89th minute on Richards' first goal of the season. She controlled the ball in the box and fired into the net sending the game into overtime.
Neither team could break through for the game winner in the extra sessions. St. Lawrence leads the all-time series between the two schools, 14-5-3.
RIT returns to action on Friday, October 17 when the Tigers face Rensselaer at 4 p.m. in Troy, N.Y.
