Five different goal scorers lead men's soccer to 6-0 shutout win over Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The RIT (4-6-1, 2-1-0 Liberty League) men's soccer team downed Bard College (4-8-0, 0-3-0 Liberty League) 6-0 in Liberty League action from Ferrari Soccer and Lacrosse Complex on the campus of Bard on Saturday afternoon. The six goals scored by the Tigers are the most in a game since 2012.

Dave Boselli (Chadds Ford, PA/Garnet Valley), Danny Bloshkin (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), Alec Burns (Mt. Airy, MD/Mt. Saint Joseph), Geno Rocco (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) and Luke Dorsey (Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia) each scored for the Tigers, while Mike Reverdatto (Bethlehem, NY/Bethlehem) and Kurt Spiegel (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury) each had a pair of assists.  Mark Reeves (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) got the win in net for RIT making one save. Patrick O'Mara (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) played the entire second half making three saves.

Shots were 13-4 in favor of RIT who took six corner kicks to zero for the Raptors. Daniel Gagne made two saves in net for Bard.

The Tigers got on the board early when Boselli tallied in the third minute. He scored when a Bard clearing attempt was blocked. The ball hopped right to Boselli, who struck it on a full volley from six yards out for a 1-0 lead.

Bloshkin made it 2-0 in the 15th minute off a feed from Reverdatto. RIT took a 3-0 lead in the 25th minute when Bloshkin's direct kick from 30 yards out was inadvertently knocked in by a Bard defender right in front of the goal.

The Tigers added to the lead right before the intermission, when Spiegel made a pass in front from the right wing, and Burns beat Gagne to the ball, chipping it over him for a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Geno Rocco (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) made it 5-0 when he settled a pass from Reverdatto and ripped a shot low to the far post from 18 yards out in the 63rd minute.

Dorsey finished the scoring in the 89th minute off a cross from Spiegel, punching an excellent pass in from close range.

RIT is now 4-0-0 all time versus Bard. The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8 when they host SUNY Geneseo at 4 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
