ROCHESTER, NY –
The RIT men's hockey team heads back on the road for the second straight weekend, travelling to play the defending Atlantic Hockey Association Champions, Robert Morris University from 84 Lumber Arena on Friday and Saturday evening. Both contests will start at 7:05 p.m.

Last weekend, RIT (2-3-0, 1-1-0 AHA) opened AHA play by splitting a pair of games at Air Force, winning 5-1 on Friday, while falling 4-3 in overtime on Saturday. RIT was 1:33 away from its first ever sweep in Colorado Springs before the Falcons rallied. On Friday, freshmen Max Mikowski (Cheekotwaga, NY/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and Mark Golberg (Ottawa, Ontario/Cumberland Grads) recorded their first collegiate assists, as the Tigers recorded their largest ever win over the Falcons. On Saturday, Brad McGowan (Langley, British Columbia/Surrey Eagles) had a goal and an assist, while Matt Garbowsky (St. George, Ontario/Powell River Kings) dished out two helpers. RIT out-shot the Falcons, 41-26.

Josh Mitchell (Osoyoos, British Columbia/Alberni Valley Bulldogs) leads the Tigers in scoring through five games with six points on two goals and four assists. McGowan has three goals and two assists, while Garbowsky has two goals and three assists. In goal, Mike Rotolo (Rochester, NY/Cedar Rapids Roughriders) has started RIT's last three games.

Robert Morris (5-0-1, 3-0-1 AHA) is the first team receiving votes in the current USCHO.com national poll. Last weekend, the Colonials went 1-0-1 in a two-game series against Army, winning 3-0 on Friday, while rallying from a 3-0 deficit on Saturday to earn a 3-3 draw. Robert Morris is out-scoring its opponents this season, 21-7 through six contests. Cody Wydo leads the Colonials in scoring with 10 points on six goals and four assists, while Zac Lynch has a team-best six assists. In goal, Terry Shafer and Dalton Izyk have split time evenly. Shafer is 2-0-1 with a 1.95 goals against average and .935 save percentage, while Izyk is 3-0-0 with a 0.33 goals against average and .990 save percentage, stopping 97-of-98 shots.

RIT is 4-6-4 all-time against Robert Morris as the two schools went 1-1-1 vs. each other last season. RIT has won the last two meetings at 84 Lumber Arena.

The two teams will also meet this season on Feb. 20-21, 2015 at RIT's Gene Polisseni Center.

Both games will be aired online and WITR 89.7 FM will cover each contest. Live stats for both contests can be accessed here.
