ROCHESTER, NY - Senior
Kiana Richards (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) finished off her final regular season home contest with the game winner in the second overtime to give the RIT (7-3-5, 3-2-2 Liberty League) women's soccer team a 2-1 win over Union College (9-4-2, 2-3-2 Liberty League) on Saturday afternoon from Tiger Stadium. In the 102nd minute, Richards blasted a shot from 18-yards out off of a pass from
Elizabeth May (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) to win the game.

The Tigers honored seniors
Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls), Richards, Kiss,
Kayleigh Grieser (Bellmore, NY/John F. Kennedy), and
Emma Esposito (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) for their accomplishments on and off the field before the start of the game.
With the win, RIT moves into third place in the Liberty League standings with one league contest left to play. RIT can clinch a spot with a win next Saturday in the regular season finale over William Smith.
Shots were 17-10 in favor of RIT who took three corner kicks compared to Union's four. Murray picked up the win in net for RIT making three saves. Allison Brustowicz took the loss for Union making six saves.

Union came out fast, scoring just six minutes into the game off of a corner kick by Mollie Gilchrist. Katie Monahan was able to get a head on the ball and place it past Murray.

Sierra Kiss (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit) answered back in the 19th minute off of a break away. Kiss dribbled the ball past the Dutchwomen's defense and flicked the ball up and over Brustowicz to tie the game.

In the second half, RIT had several chances to score.
Anka Parzych (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) took a shot just inside 18-yards that bounced over the goalie and missed just wide of the far post.

In the last five minutes of regulation
Quincey Ornellas (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark) took a shot from in front of the net that went past the goalie but the defense recovered to make the save.

"We played very well as a team," said RIT head coach
Liz Masterson. "We had a lot of good possessions and were dangerous offensively. We will continue to fight for a spot in the Liberty League tournament."
