Wrestling goes 1-2 on Friday at 2014 Budd Whitehill National Duals

WILLIAMSPORT, PA –
The RIT wrestling team (3-5) went 1-2 at the 2014 Budd Whitehill National Duals hosted by Lycoming College at Lamade Gymnasium on Friday.
 
RIT opened by losing to No. 13 Messiah, 30-10, then fell to Ohio Northern, 28-15. RIT won its lone match of the day via forfeit, as Muskingum did not compete.

#Brad Mayville (Marion, NY/Wayne)# was the lone Tigers to win both matches, defeating Greg Kabakjian of Messiah via major decision, 11-2, then earning a 7-2 win over Stephen Feucht of Ohio Northern, 7-2. He improves to 22-4 on the season at 149 lbs.
 
In the loss to Messiah, #Eddie McBride (Germantown, MD/Northwest)# picked up RIT's other win, by forfeit. #Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne) lost a tough 8-7 decision at 157 lbs. (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy)Andrew Flanagan (Holley, NY/Holley)# picked up a win by forfeit against Ohio Northern, while #Jake Sepor (Stafford, NY/Pavilion) and Tyler Brent (Gasport, NY/Royalton-Hartland)# earned wins at 141 and 184 lbs., respectively. Brent's win came on a takedown in overtime.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday at 12 p.m. vs. Case Western Reserve or York to conclude action at the Budd Whitehill National Duals.
