ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women's tennis team (1-8) wrapped up its 2012-13 regular season by falling to visiting William Smith College (11-6) by a score of 7-2 on a beautiful sunny Tuesday afternoon at RIT Courts.

Maite Vera Antelo (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) continued her unbeaten run in the Spring, improving to 6-0 this season after dispatching Hallsey Leighton at second singles in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. She also partnered with Elizabeth McGrail (Rockford, IL/Guilford) to defeat Teru Greene and Kelley Hartmann at first doubles by a score of 8-6. McGrail and Greene played a very competitive match at first singles, with Greene coming out on top, 6-4, 6-7, 10-5.

William Smith won singles matches 3-6 and the other two doubles matches.

RIT is back in action on Friday, hosting the 2013 Liberty League Women's Tennis Championships at RIT Courts. RIT will play a yet to be determined opponent on Friday in the quarterfinals.
