Women's tennis comes up short at St. Lawrence

CANTON, NY -
The RIT women's tennis team (1-7) dropped an 8-1 decision on the road at St. Lawrence on Sunday. It is the second straight day that RIT has lost by an 8-1 score.

For the second straight day, Maite Vera Antelo (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) was RIT's lone winner of the day. Playing at second singles, she secured a 6-1, 7-6 victory over St. Lawrence's Olivia Arroyo. Vera Antelo and Elizabeth McGrail (Rockford, IL/Guilford) nearly picked up the win at first doubles, dropping a close 9-8 decision. At sixth singles. Britt Amari (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township High School) dropped a close decision to Sami Miller, falling, 6-3, 7-6.

RIT wraps up the 2013 regular season on April 30, with a home match against William Smith College that gets underway at 4 p.m.
