Box Score ROCHESTER, NY -- The third-ranked RIT (7-2) men's lacrosse team scored 25 goals against arch rival Nazareth College (6-4) on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium in a 25-15 win. The 25 goals are the most the Golden Flyers have ever allowed in a game.
The 40 combined goals are the most scored in one game of the history of the rivalry, while the 25 goals scored by RIT ties for the most goals scored in a game this season.
Jack Krzyston (Bedford, NH/Bishop Guertin) led RIT with seven points on four goals and three assists.
Eddie Kiesa (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) scored four goals and dished out two assists.
Kyle Aquin (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean De Brebeuf) and
Allister Warren (Toronto, Ontario/Malvern Collegiate Institute) each scored four goals each for the Tigers.
RIT held a 52-50 shot advantage, while Nazareth held a slight 46-43 ground ball advantage. Nazareth won 23-of-43 face-offs and were 7-of-12 on clearing attempts. RIT was 15-of-18 on clears, and went 5-of-7 with the man advantage.
Pat Johnston (Long Beach, CA/Norwell (MA)) got the win in net for RIT, making 13 saves. Drew Tyrell played nearly 14 minutes and made five saves, while
Jarryd Lee (Melbourne, Australia/St. Leonards) played two minutes and made one save.
Luke Wooters led Nazareth with five goals and an assist, and Troy Haefele and Drew Simoneau each had three goals for the Golden Flyers who have lost six straight games to RIT.
Scott Brown got the start in net, taking the loss, allowing 17 goals and making three saves. Tim Doyle played the second half and allowed eight goals and made six saves.
RIT led 4-2 after the first quarter, and blew the game open with a 10-goal second quarter, leading 14-4 at the half. Warren scored three of his four goals in the second quarter to help the Tigers open the game up.
The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, April 3 when the Tigers host SUNY Geneseo at 4 pm on RIT's Turf Field.
