ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's hockey team heads west to the central time zone this weekend, traveling to face College Hockey America foe Lindenwood University. It is the first league games for both teams. Friday's contest begins at 8 p.m., while Saturday's game gets underway at 3 p.m. EST.
RIT was off last weekend and enter league play with a 4-5-0 overall record. RIT is 4-0-0 on Friday and 0-5-0 on Saturday this season. Last time out, on Oct. 26, the Tigers fired a season-high 55 shots on goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to Brown University. The Tigers have been outscored 29-22 this season, but have a 21-17 scoring edge over their last eight contests.

Kourtney Kunichika (Fullerton, CA/LA Selects)#, who is just one goal shy of 50 for her career, leads the team in scoring with seven points. She also has a team-best five goals. RIT has 10 players with at least four points in the nine games played this season. In goal, #
Ali Binnington (Oakville, Ontario/Mississauga Chiefs)# is 4-3-0 with a 2.63 goals against average and .914 save percentage.
Lindenwood enters the weekend series looking for its first win of the season. The Lady Lions, who are 0-9-1 this season, have been outscored 43-10. Kendra Broad leads the team in scoring with five goals on two goals and three assists. Jocelyn Slattery and Alyssa West each have a pair of goals. In goal, Nicole Hensley has a 4.46 goals against average and .903 save percentage. She leads all of Division I by a wide margin with 371 saves and 411 shots faced.
The Tigers and Lions split the season series in 2012-13 with a 1-1-2 mark. RIT defeated the Lions 5-1 and tied 1-1 at Ritter Arena, while the two teams skated to a 1-1 tie and Lindenwood earned a 4-3 win on its home ice.

Last season, RIT finished 7-8-5 in CHA play and advanced to the league semifinals, before falling to Syracuse in overtime. Lindenwood was 7-10-3 in league play, finishing fifth and falling to Robert Morris in the first round.
RIT was picked to finish fourth in the 2013-14 CHA preseason poll, while Lindenwood was selected to place fifth.
