GENESEO, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team (5-4-2) had its chances, but could not convert, playing to a scoreless draw at SUNY Geneseo (5-6-2) in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

Shots were 20-19 in favor of the Knights, while corner kicks were 10-4 for SUNY Geneseo. Sophomore goalkeeper Mark Reeves (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) made seven saves in net for the Tigers, while Logan Calvey made five stops in net for Geneseo.

"I thought we battled today," said RIT Head Coach Bill Garno. "It wasn't pretty, but our defense stayed with it, and hung tough and we came out with the tie."

RIT controlled play throughout much of the opening moments of the first half. Dave Boselli (Chadds Ford, PA/Garnet Valley) and John Kaddo (Troy, NY/Averill Park) each had solid scoring chances for the Tigers. Boselli's bicycle kick from 10 yards out went wide of the Geneseo net, while Kaddo gathered a loose ball and blasted a shot from 18 yards out that just missed the post.

Geneseo countered with some solid chances in the latter portion of the first half. Jaisen Clark fired a shot with a little over 20 minutes to play that Reeves dove for and saved.

Geno Rocco (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) and Michael Vincelli (Hilton, NY/Hilton) each saved shots off the line for the Tigers late in the first half to preserve the scoreless tie for the Tigers heading into halftime.

Kaddo had another great chance in the second half when he found himself in space inside the Geneseo penalty area. He fired a good hard shot that was blocked away by a Knights defender.

Danny Bloshkin (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) had a great chance late in the second half. He fired a left-footed blast from the top of the Geneseo box, but the shot caromed off the post and out of harms way.

Both teams had chances in the overtime sessions, but could not score. Geneseo had two good chances in the first overtime, but failed to connect for a goal. The Tigers fired four shots in the second overtime, but could not penetrate the Knights defense.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, October 12 when they travel to Canton, N.Y. to face Liberty League rival, No. 19 St. Lawrence University at 2 p.m.
