ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT volleyball team (14-22, 3-9 Liberty League) came into Saturday looking to end a five game skid, but fell in 3-1 in two competitive matches to Liberty League foes Skidmore (10-16, 3-9 Liberty League) and St. Lawrence (19-9, 8-4 Liberty League).
The Tigers took a hard fought first set against Skidmore 25-22, only to see themselves drop the next three 20-25, 21-25, 21-25 and lose the match. Although RIT battled with the Thoroughbreds from start to finish, they couldn't quite overcome their 33 errors.

Anna Valentine (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) finished the match with a team high 12 kills. She was joined by (Chicago, IL/Ramstein)Sara Martin (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) who added 11 of her own. (Chicago, IL/Ramstein)Emma Dowdy (Cocoa, FL/Edgewood)# who recorded 11 kills added 17 assists to go along with it. Libero
Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) earned 18 digs in the match as well.
In the second match of the day RIT split the first two sets with St. Lawrence 16-25, 25-22 ,but let sets three and four slip away, 25-18, 27-25 after having a late leads, losing in similar fashion 3-1.
Valentine once again led the team with 11 kills and Martin had herself seven. Dowdy added 19 assists in the match as well and another nine kills. The 31 team errors however hurt the RIT effort.
RIT wrapped up their Liberty League schedule, finishing with a 3-9 conference record.
The Tigers will be back in action next weekend with the New York State Regional Challenge, starting on Friday, Nov. 1 with RIT taking on Nazareth College at 3 p.m. and then Stevens Institute of Technology at 7 p.m. The final match of the Tigers season will be on Saturday Nov. 2 against New York University.
