ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team will host Union College on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Tiger Stadium at 2 p.m., with all proceeds collected from the game to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times.

Camp Good Days will have a table set up at the main gate at Tigers Stadium to collect donations. The sisters of Alpha Sigma Alpha will be raffling off prizes with the proceeds being donated to Camp Good Days and Special Times. The sisters of Alpha Sigma Alpha will be raffling off a $15 giftcard from Lovin Cup, four Medium Combo cards from DiBella's, and two cakes from Panera.

In addition to being the final weekend home game for the Tigers, the senior captains decided to dedicate their "Senior Day" to Camp Good Days and Special Times. In order to commemorate this event, RIT will be wearing special blue game day jerseys.

"We are so pleased to be starting a relationship with the players, parents, coaches and supporters of the RIT men's soccer team," said Gary Mervis, Chairman and Founder of Camp Good Days. "Their willingness, hard work and commitment to raise funds allows us to continue providing some good days and special times to some children and families in our community who need them the most."

For more information on the benefit match, check out the RIT Athletics website at www.ritathletics.com.

Last season, the Tigers hosted Be the Match for the Cure which was an event inspired by the friends and family of the RIT men's soccer team and Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority who have been affected by leukemia and lymphoma.

"It is an honor to dedicate our last regular season home game to Camp Good Days and Special Times," said senior co-captain Andy Fleckenstein (Farmington, NY/Victor). "The organization has changed so many lives for the better. We are excited to begin our affiliation with such a great cause."

Camp Good Days and Special Times, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life threatening challenges, was founded by Gary Mervis in 1979, following the diagnosis of his youngest daughter, Teddi, with a malignant brain tumor.

What was started to provide Teddi and 62 other children with cancer (21 from Rochester, 21 from Buffalo, 21 from Syracuse) with a residential camping experience, has grown to become one of the largest organizations of its kind, having served as model for other organizations and cancer treatment centers around the world.  Providing residential camping programs and year-round recreational and support activities and events, Camp Good Days has served more than 44,000 campers from 22 states and 28 countries.  Camp Good Days maintains accreditation from the American Camp Association (ACA) and has been inducted into the Safety 1st Hall of Fame by Markel Insurance Company.
