Kiss' two goals lifts women's soccer to crucial 3-2 win over St. Lawrence



ROCHESTER, NY -- Junior forward #Sierra Kiss (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit)# scored two goals to help the RIT (8-1-3, 3-0-1 Liberty League) women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over St. Lawrence (6-4-2, 0-4-0 Liberty League) in Liberty League action on a sun-drenched Tiger Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Kiss scored twice and #Maxine Culhane (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) tallied her first collegiate goal for the Tigers who improve to 8-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the Liberty League play. (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake)Kiana Richards (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake)#, #Anka Parzych (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) and Gwen Neuhaus (Woodbridge, VA/Potomac)# each had assists, while #Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls)# picked up her seventh win of the season, making six saves.

Julie Friesen and Samantha Rock scored for the Saints who fall to 6-4-2 overall and 0-4-0 in the Liberty League. Kelsey West took the loss in net, making seven saves.

RIT is now fourth in the Liberty League standings with a 3-0-1 record. Five teams are 3-1-0 or better, including a pair of teams (William Smith and Skidmore), who have 4-0 records.

Shots were 13-12 in favor of the Saints, while corner kicks were 6-3 in favor of St. Lawrence.

RIT returns to action on Friday, October 18 when the Tigers host No. 17 Skidmore College at 4 p.m.
