ROCHESTER, NY – The No. 24 RIT (8-2-3, 3-1-1 Liberty League) women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to No. 16 Skidmore College (10-2-2, 5-0-0 Liberty League) 2-1 in Liberty League action from Tiger Stadium on Friday afternoon. Christine Bellotti scored twice for the Thoroughbreds in the final nine minutes, including the game-winner with 56 seconds to play in regulation.
Shots were 16-7 in favor of Skidmore. The Thoroughbreds took six corner kicks to none for the Tigers who lost for the first time in nine games. #
Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls)# took the loss in net for RIT, making six saves. Gab Lawrence got the win in net for Skidmore, making two saves.

Sierra Kiss (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit) scored RIT's lone goal in the 54th minute off an assist from (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake)Ehlana Gray (Sewickley, PA/Avonworth)#. It was the first goal allowed by Skidmore since September 7 and it gave RIT a 1-0 lead. Gray got free out on the flank and sent an early service into the Skidmore penalty area. Kiss made the run, stuck her foot out and re-directed the ball into the net for her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Kiss has scored at least one goal in five straight games.
Skidmore tallied the equalizer in the 82nd minute on Bellotti's first of two goals. Kelly O'Donnell sent a service into the RIT penalty area. Bellotti was able to get behind the Tigers defense and get a toe on the ball, tying the score at 1-1.

Elizabeth May (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) got free inside the Thoroughbreds area off a service from (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake)Kiana Richards (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake)#. May turned and fired a shot, but Lawrence made the save for Skidmore with a little over a minute to play in regulation.
The Thoroughbreds countered down the field. The loose ball came right to Bellotti in the RIT box. She gathered and fired into the RIT net for a 2-1 Skidmore lead.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, October 19 when the Tigers host Rensselaer at 2 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
