SCHENECTADY, NY -- The RIT (5-12, 2-7 Liberty League) women's basketball team travelled east on I-90 Tuesday night to take on Liberty League foe Union College. The Tigers came up short, losing to the Dutchwomen 70-52.

Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) and
Mallory Apperson (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove)# led RIT with 11 points apiece, while #
Kayla Wheeler (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and
Jess Kramer (Fayetteville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt)# each added 10 points. Havens added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, #
Brienna McLean (Memphis, TN/Overton)# dished out eight assists.
RIT shot 38.2 percent from the floor on 21-of-55 shooting. The Tigers went 3-of-10 from three point land and were 7-of-11 from the charity stripe. Union held a 43-32 rebounding edge, while RIT turned over the ball 17 times to 14 for the Dutchwomen who improve to 12-8 overall and 7-5 in the Liberty League.
Kelsey McDonald led Union with 14 points, while Brittney Kenney added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Feb. 1 at 6 pm when the Tigers host Skidmore College on the floor of Clark Gym.
