RIT women's basketball back on the winning track with victory over Bard



ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (5-11, 2-6 Liberty League) led 40-19 at halftime and cruised home for a 75-50 win over Bard College (7-12, 1-9 Liberty League) in Liberty League action from Clark Gym on Saturday afternoon.

#Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) and Kayla Wheeler (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa)# led the Tigers with 11 and 10 points respectively. In all, twelve different Tigers scored on the day.

RIT shot 44.8 percent from the floor on 30-of-67 shooting. The Tigers were 12-of-29 from three point land and made 3-of-8 foul shots. RIT scored 30 points off of 25 Bard turnovers.

Tytravia Riley led the Raptors with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Bianka Bell added 11 points and dished out three assists.

The Raptors shot 33.3 percent from the floor on 16-of-48 shooting. Bard was 3-of-10 from behind the arc and went 15-of-23 from the foul line.

Leading 27-19 at the 3:49 mark of the first half, RIT closed out the half on a 13-0 run leading by 21 at the break. #Brienna McLean (Memphis, TN/Overton)# scored five of the Tigers 13 points in the run.

RIT opened the second half on a 16-6 run, taking a 31 point lead on bucket by #Jackie Hom (Newton, MA/Newton South)# who finished with five points. The 56-25 lead was the largest of the game for the Tigers.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 29 when they travel to Schenectady, New York to face the Dutchwomen of Union College. Tip-off is at 6 pm.
