Bromson scores three as RIT women's soccer shuts out Skidmore 3-0

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY-- Junior forward Rachael Bromson (Suffield, CT/Suffield) tallied the first hat trick since Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) did it on Oct. 22, 2008 versus Alfred. Bromson's hat trick helped lead the RIT (6-3-0, 2-0-0 Liberty League) women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Skidmore College (1-6-1, 0-2-1 Liberty League) win Liberty League action from Wachenheim Field on Friday afternoon.
 
Bromson accounted for all of the Tiger scoring with three goals, giving her nine for the season. She is the first Tiger to record a hat trick since Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) tallied three goals versus Alfred University back on October 22, 2008.
 
Bromson scored her first in the 16th minute when she headed home a long pass from Emily Shoemaker (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) for a 1-0 RIT lead.

She made it 2-0 five minutes later when she one-timed a cross from Ehlana Gray (Sewickley, PA/Avonworth) in the 21st minute to give RIT a 2-0 lead.  

Bromson's third goal was a conversion of a penalty kick in the 72nd minute after a Skidmore hand ball.
 
The Thoroughbreds had a 10-8 shot and 7-2 corner kick advantage. Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) picked up her sixth win of the season allowing no goals and making five saves. Gab Lawrence took the loss for Sjidmore, allowing three goals and making three saves
 
RIT will face Rensselaer on Saturday, September 29  at 2 p.m. in Troy, New York.
