ORLANDO, FL -- The RIT women's tennis team (1-4) was defeated by Albion 7-2 on Tuesday in Orlando, Florida.
Maite Vera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/Mayor San Loranzo) was RIT's lone winner at singles, defeating Marissa Cloutier 7-5, 6-3 at first singles. Vera also paired up with
Sara Bjork (Gansevoort, NY/Saratoga Springs) at first singles to defeat Cloutier and Katie Blumberg 8-5. Bjork pushed her second-singles match against Blumberg to three sets, but fell short, eventually falling 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Tigers are back in action on Friday, when they play Grand Valley State in Orlando, Florida.
