ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (3-4) women's basketball team closed out the home portion of the 2012 claendar year with a 62-48 win over D'Youville College (3-5) on the floor of Clark Gym Saturday evening.

Mallory Apperson (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove)# scored six points, grabbed five rebounds and had four steals.
RIT shot 39.7 percent from the floor on 23-of-58 shooting. The Tigers went 3-for-19 from behind the arc and went 13-of-20 from the foul line. RIT held a 45-39 rebounding edge and scored 21 points off of 21 D'Youville turnovers.
Brdiget Andrews led D'Youville with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Alexis Smith added 15 points for the Spartans who shot 33.3 percent from the floor on 17-of-51 shooting, including 3-for-17 from behind the arc.
RIT led by 14 at the half, 32-18. The Tigers opened the second half with an 11-0 run, extending their lead to 25 points on a pair of Tennant free throws that made it 43-18 RIT.

Kelly Van Epps (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland)# drained a three-pointer with 14:10 to play givng the Tigers a 49-21 lead, their largest of the game.
RIT returns to action on Monday, Dec. 17 when the Tigers travel to Buffalo, New York to face Buffalo State at 7 pm.
