PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT (1-2) placed seventh in the 20th Wendy's College Classic on Saturday with a 67-45 win over Nazareth College (1-5) in the seventh place game. The Tigers broke open a close game with a strong second half, outscoring the Golden Flyers 38-17 in the second half.

Kayla Wheeler (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa)# led all scorers with 15 points for RIT. She was 7-of-10 from the floor, grabbed three rebounds, had an assist, a block and a steal.

Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton)#, who was an All-Classic second team selection, added 14 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Tigers.
RIT shot 43.3 percent for the game on 26-of-60 shooting. The Tigers shot 50 percent in the second half and made 9-of-11 free throws to help blow the game open.
Leading by just one point at the half, RIT opened the second half with an 8-0 run, taking a nine point lead with 16:01 to play on a layup by Havens.

The lead bulged to 19 points with 4:57 to play on a basket from Wheeler, helping RIT to their first win of the season.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Dec. 7 when the Tigers open Liberty League play versus Union at 6 p.m. on the Clark Gymnasium floor.
