PITTSFORD, NY -
Both RIT and Nazareth entered Tuesday night's volleyball match riding identical six-match winning streaks. Unfortunately, RIT (15-7) would have its streak snapped and Nazareth (13-7) would run its streak to seven matches with a four-set win over the Tigers at Kidera Gymnasium. RIT won the first set 25-21, but Nazareth roared back to win the next three, 25-19, 25-19, 25-20

In the opening set, Nazareth scored the first point, but RIT responded with nine of the next 10 for a 9-2 lead. The Tigers would lead by as many as eight, at 20-12, before Nazareth made a small run to force a RIT timeout up 24-21 late in the first set. On the ensuing play, Taylor Harkness (Batavia, NY/Batavia) slammed a spike off the blockers to give RIT the 25-21 edge in set one.

RIT led 2-1 early in the second set, but Nazareth went on an early run and never trailed after, taking set two, 25-19. In the third set, Nazareth took an early lead and held on once again. RIT rallied to tie set four, 19-19, before Nazareth pulled away late, scoring six of the final seven points.

Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) led the way offensively for the Tigers, dishing out 18 assists to go along with 10 kills and 14 digs. Sara Martin (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) also added 10 kills and five digs. Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) tallied just six kills, but added four blocks.
