Women's Basketball Falls to Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.
-- The RIT women's basketball team (5-6, 1-1 Liberty League) was defeated by Skidmore College (8-2, 2-0 Liberty League) 67-51 on Saturday afternoon.

Skidmore took an early lead, behind seven points from both Megan Gaugler and Christina Gargiso in the first 10 minutes.  #Courtney Tennant (Cortland, NY/Cortland)# sparked a 12-6 Tiger run with nine points of her own to tie the game 23-23 late in the first half.  The Thoroughbreds closed out the half on an 11-point run.

The Thoroughbreds lead ballooned early in the second half, going up by as many as 23.  The Tigers fought back, but couldn't get to within 13, eventually falling 67-51.

Tennant finished the game with 15 points and two rebounds.  #Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton)# picked up her second double-double of the season with 20 points and a career-high 15 boards.

The Tigers shot 28.6 percent (18-63) from the field while the Throroughbreds shot 42.6 percent (26-61).  RIT was 11-for-13 from the free throw line (84.6 %) and Skidmore was 8-for-10 (80 %).
