ROCHESTER, NY –
The No. 1 RIT women's hockey team (17-1-1) extended its winning streak to three games after defeating Hamilton College (7-10-0) 3-1 at Ritter Arena on Tuesday evening. The game was RIT's final non-conference regular season contest of the season.

#Emilee Bulleid (Waterdown, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres)#, #Megan Kobar (Calgary, Alberta)#, and #Tenecia Hiller (Brampton, Ontario/Brampton Thunder)# scored for the Tigers, who out-shot the Continentals, 35-31. In goal, freshman goaltender #Ali Binnington (Oakville, Ontario/Mississauga Chiefs)# made 30 saves to improve to 7-0 on the season. She was named the game's first star.

Katie Zimmerman scored her team-best 15th goal of the season in the third period for Hamilton, who pestered RIT all evening. Nikki Haskins fired 12 shots on goal for the Continentals and was named the game's third star.

RIT was 1-for-4 with the man-advantage, while Hamilton was 0-for-5.

The Tigers played a very sloppy first period, turning the puck over several times, but were able to take a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

RIT opened the scoring 11:22 into the contest, as Bulleid took a feed from #Ariane Yokoyama (Van Nuys, CA/LA Selects)# in the high slot and ripped a slap shot past Hazlett for her third tally of the season.  #Ali Hills (Honeoye Falls, NY)# worked for the puck in the corner and cycled the puck down low to Yokoyama, who circled and found Bulleid all alone in the high slot.

Hamilton continued to take advantage of RIT turnovers and nearly capitalized when Haskins was left alone at the side of the RIT net, but Binnington came across to make a big save.

Kobar made it 2-0 Tigers with 35 seconds left in the period, as she jammed home a rebound in front. #Ellesha Fortuna (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Barracudas) cycled down low to (Drumbo, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres)Erin Zach (Elmira, Ontario/Cambridge Fury)#, who circled and tried to stuff the puck in.  Hazlett made the first save, but the rebound came right to Kobar on the doorstep, who scored her fourth goal of the season.

Binnington was strong in the middle frame, stopping all 12 shots she faced, including seven on a pair of Hamilton power-plays.

The Tigers turned it on over the final six minutes of the period and upped their lead to 3-0, as Hiller was the recipient of a nifty three-way passing play, as she one timed a feed from the slot for her 13th goal of the year. #Morgan Scoyne (Drumbo, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres) had the puck at the point and fired a pass to (Drumbo, Ontario/Stoney Creek Sabres)Lindsay Grigg (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville Hornets)# at the left faceoff circle. Grigg one-timed that pass right to Hiller, who was all alone in front.

Zimmerman cut RIT's lead to 3-1 with 15:32 left in regulation, as her seemingly harmless shot from the blue-line on an attempted dump in slid through the legs of Binnington.

It would be Binnington's only blemish of the evening, as she regained her composure and made a few big saves on Haskins later in the period and kept the Continentals at bay.

RIT is 34-4-1 all-time against the Continentals and have won eight straight against them dating back to the 2005-06 season.

RIT returns to action on Friday and Saturday with a pair of road games at SUNY Oswego. Friday's game starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday's gets underway at 3 p.m.
