PITTSFORD, NY -- Four different Tigers scored goals as the RIT men's soccer team defeated SUNY Canton 4-0 in day two of the 8th Annual Doug May Classic hosted by Nazareth College. RIT scored a goal in the first half and exploded for three goals in the second half evening their record to 1-1-0 on the season.
Senior
Dan Holowaty (Strongsville, OH/St. Ignatius) and sophomore
Coty Winchell (Belfast, NY/Belfast) each had a goal and an assist to pace the Tigers offense. Freshman
Danny Bloshkin (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and senior
Darryl Anderson (San Diego, CA/Southwest) also scored for RIT who out shot Canton 17-11.
RIT's defense allowed just two shots on goal as
Sean Conway (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) picked up his first win of the season and his first shut out of the year.
Bloshkin struck first for the Tigers in the 34th minute off an assist from Winchell.
Holowaty made it 2-0 RIT just after halftime, converting a penalty kick in the 46th minute.
Anderson, who played two seasons on the RIT basketball team, scored his first collegiate goal in the 49th minute off an assist from Holowaty.
Winchell made it 4-0 Tigers in the 79th minute off an assist from #C.J. Brunner#.
The Tigers will look to make it two in a row on Wednesday afternoon when RIT hosts SUNY Morrisville at 4 pm on RIT Field.
