CANTON, NY - The RIT volleyball team finished 2-2 at the North Country Classic hosted by St. Lawrence and Clarkson. Junior
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) was named to the All-Tournament Team, as the Tigers went 1-1 both on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, the Tigers rolled to a three-game win over Baruch, then lost to Division II St. Michael's in five games.
In the win over Baruch, Worth tallied 28 assists, five kills and four aces.
Suzanne Jokajtys (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) added 11 kills, two aces and seven digs.
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) recorded nine kills, three aces and three digs. RIT won 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.
Against St. Michaels, Worth had 45 assists, three kills, two blocks, 14 digs and three aces. Moore had 20 kills and five digs. Jokajtys had 17 kills while
Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) added 11 kills, four aces, nine digs and two blocks, RIT won the first game 26-24, before St. Michael's won the next two 25-19, and 25-22. RIT won game four, 25-23, before St. Michael's won the decisive fifth game, 16-14.
The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday at the Nazareth Golden Flyer Tournament.
