ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT Women's Volleyball team finished Liberty League play with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-7) setback to visiting William Smith, Wednesday.
RIT hosted its annual Dig Pink match in support of breast cancer awareness, raising funds and handing out information about how fans can support the fight against breast cancer.

- RIT held a 5-3 lead to start the first set before the Herons scored four-straight points to start a 10-2 run for a 13-7 lead. The Tigers got as close as five, 15-10, but William Smith scored the next six points for a 21-10 edge. RIT put together a 4-0 run to pull back within seven, 21-14, but the Herons scored four of the final five points to clinch the opener.
- William Smith led, 7-3, to open the second set, before RIT came back with a 3-1 surge to trail, 8-6. The Herons pulled out to a 15-9 lead following a 7-3 run, but the Tigers surged to a 20-19 lead with an 11-4 run. Tied, 21-21, William Smith scored four of the final five points to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Herons took control of the third set with a 12-2 lead before scoring eight-straight points for a decisive 20-3 lead en route to the sweep.

RIT heads to New Jersey this Saturday (Oct. 31) for a tri-match at Stockton, taking on the host Ospreys at 10:00 a.m. before squaring off with Albright (Pa.) at 1:00 p.m.
