Volleyball finishes 1-1 at Liberty League crossover Saturday; Tigers pick up first league win

The RIT voileyball team (6-11, 1-3 Liberty League) picked up its first ever Liberty League victory on Saturday, garnering a split, falling to Clarkson in three games and defeating Bard in three games.

Tigers opened the day by falling to Clarkson, 25-16, 25-22, 25-20.  Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) led the way with eight kills, while adding six digs.  Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) chipped in with six kills, while Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) and Kristin Parish (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) added four blocks each.  Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 13 assists.

RIT rebounded to defeat Bard, 25-10, 25-21, 25-10.  The Tigers had 16 service aces, with Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier), Elise Walsh, and Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor)# chipping in with three each.  Wilson-Houck led the Tigers with 10 kills, while Suzanne Jokajtys (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) added seven, and #Cat Sullivan, six.  Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) added 22 assists in just two games, while Davis had 12 digs.  Amanda White (Watertown, NY/Watertown) recorded three blocks.

Yesterday, the Tigers opened up Liberty League play by falling to St. Lawrence and Vassar.

The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday, as they compete at the Nazareth Invitational.  RIT plays Geneseo and Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Friday.
