ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY - The RIT voileyball team (5-10, 0-2 Liberty League) dropped its first two matches in the Liberty League conference on Friday evening. In the opener, RIT won the first two games, then dropped the final three to the Saints. The Tigers then fell to Vassar in four games.
Against St. Lawrence,
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) slammed 17 kills and recorded four blocks.
Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) recorded 13 kills to go along with eight assists, and 10 digs.
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 42 assists to go along with 11 digs.
RIT won games one and two 25-18, 25-22, before losing the final three, 25-23, 25-22, 15-13.
Suzanne Jokajtys (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) drilled 11 kills, while
Kristin Parish (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) recorded six blocks.
Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) added 22 digs.
In the match agianst Vassar,
Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) slammed a career best 20 kills to go along with eight digs. Cooper added 10 kills and 13 digs, while Worth dished out 38 assists.
RIT won the first game, 25-23, then lost the final three by scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.
The Tigers continue Liberty League action tomorrow, as they play Clarkson and Bard at Vassar. The first match begins at 11 a.m. and second match gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
