Men's soccer loses to Oswego on late goal

OSWEGO, NY -- The RIT (2-3-1) men's soccer team was defeated by SUNY Oswego (5-1-0) 1-0 in non-conference action from Oswego, New York. The Lakers scored in the 83rd minute to hand the Tigers their third loss of the season and second in a row.

Shots were even 9-9. RIT took five corner kicks to four for Oswego. Sean Conway (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) took the loss for the Tigers allowing one goal and making two saves. PJ Goodwin picked up the win making two saves. RIT has now gone scoreless in two straight games.

The Laker's Mike Naab scored the eventual game-winner in the 93rd minute off an assist from JohnMcLoughlin.

The Tigers made a late push with back-to-back corner kicks in the closing minutes, but the Lakers defense held firm for the win.


The Tigers will host cross-town rival Nazareth College on Tuesday, September 20 at 4 pm.
