Men's soccer falls to cross-town rival University of Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's soccer team was defeated by the University of Rochester 3-0 in non-conference action under the lights at Edwin Fauver Stadium on Tuesday evening. After a tightly played first 60 minutes, the Tigers allowed two goals in the final 30 minutes to fall to 2-2-1 on the season.

RIT was outshot by the Yellowjackets 9-6. The Tigers took just one corner kick to eight for Rochester. Sean Conway (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) got the start in net, taking the loss allowing three goals and making three saves.

Jimmy Forbes (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and James Whelan (Moriches, NY/Moriches) had the only two shots on net for RIT.

The Yellowjackets took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on a goal by Josh Richards. 

That score held until the 60th minute when Max Eberhardt scored twice in a 25 second span to break the game open for the Yellowjackets.

RIT hits the road for the third straight game on Saturday, September 17 when the Tigers face SUNY Oswego at 1 pm in Oswego, New York.
