Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) and
Courtney Tennant (Cortland, NY/Cortland)#, the RIT (5-19, 3-12 E8) women's basketball team was defeated by Utica College (14-10, 10-5 E8) 72-59 in Empire 8 action on Friday night.
The Tigers fell behind in the first half and despite a second half run, could not overcome the first half deficit.
RIT was 9-of-26 shooting in the first half getting just one field goal from someone other than Havens or Tennant who combined to record 8-of-17 from the field.
Havens led the Tigers with 12 first half points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. Tennant added nine points and each grabbed five rebounds.
RIT shot much better in the second half, going 13-of-26 from the floor shooting 50% on the half.
Tennant had a big second half scoring 14 of her 23 points. She was 6-of-12 from the floor and went 10-of-10 from the foul line. The freshman center also grabbed 10 rebounds, including four offensive boards.
Havens was 10-of-21 shooting, added seven rebounds and had two steals for the Tigers who wrap up the season on Saturday afternoon versus Alfred.
