POTSDAM, NY – The top-ranked RIT women's hockey team (6-0-0, 4-0-0 ECAC West) picked up its sixth straight win to start the 2011-12 season, shutting out SUNY Potsdam (1-4-0, 1-4-0 ECAC West) 6-0 at Maxcy Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Celeste Brown (Great Falls, MT/National Sports Academy)# scored her first collegiate hat-trick to lead the way. She scored one time in each period, as she now has six goals in her first six collegiate contests.
Freshman goaltender
Ali Binnington (Oakville, Ontario/Mississauga Chiefs) stopped all 19 shots she faced to record her first collegiate shutout. RIT out-shot Potsdam, 48-19.
The Tigers killed off all eight Potsdam power-play attempts and were 1-for-4 with the man-advantage.

Melissa Bromley (Aurora, Ontario/Aurora Panthers)# also scored for the Tigers, who have now outscored opponents, 35-8 in six games this season.

Kourtney Kunichika (Fullerton, CA/LA Selects)# dished out a pair of assists, while #
Ariane Yokoyama (Van Nuys, CA/LA Selects)# extended her point-scoring streak to 15 games, dating back to last year. Kunichika now has a team-best 13 points in six games this year and 27 in her last 12 games dating back to the 2010-11 season.
Dawn Salvarinas stopped 42 shots for the Bears.
RIT has now won nine straight games over the Bears. Yesterday, RIT won by a score of 4-2.
The Tigers return to action next weekend, as they travel to face ECAC West rival Neumann for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game starts at 7 p.m., while Saturday's gets underway at 3 p.m.
