SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The RIT volleyball team (15-20, 4-8 Liberty League) concluded Liberty League play by falling to Union in five sets and St. Lawrence in four sets at Skidmore on Saturday. RIT will not advance to the Liberty League Tournament.
The Tigers fell to Union, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22, 12-25, 12-15.
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) slammed 18 kills, while #Cat Sullivan added a career-best 16 kills, while hitting .500.
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 45 assists to go along with 13 digs, and six blocks.
Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) added 12 kills.
Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) recorded a season-best 27 digs, while
Suzanne Jokajtys (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) added 15 digs and seven assists.
RIT fell to St. Lawrence, 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 28-26. Sullivan was a monster in the middle once again for RIT, slamming 12 kills, while hitting .571, and recording eight blocks. Wilson-Houck also had 12 kills, while Moore added 10, and Jokajtys, eight. Worth added 45 assists and four blocks.
Davis recorded 25 digs, while
Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor) added 11.
The Tigers will conclude the 2011 season next Friday and Saturday at the New York State Regional Championship, hosted by the University of Rochester.
