ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT volleyball team (14-16, 4-4 Liberty League) defeated Bard (3-21, 0-12 Liberty League) in three sets and lost to Skidmore (18-8, 6-3 Liberty League) in four sets in Liberty League play at Clark Gym on Saturday.
The Tigers breezed to a 25-9, 25-15, 25-13 win over the Raptors.
Suzanne Jokajtys (Boonville, NY/Adirondack),
Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West), and
Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) each slammed six kills each to pace the offense.
Amanda White (Watertown, NY/Watertown) added five blocks, while
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 23 assists and
Danielle Neuberger (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly) had five.
Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) chipped in with five kills, four service aces, and four digs.
RIT hit .324 and had 13 service aces in the win.
For Bard, Cara Chalk and Mai Aurell-Foulser slammed five kills each. Lexi Cooper added 10 assists.
RIT won the first set against Skidmore, 25-20, but lost the final three, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14.
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) slammed 18 kills to lead RIT offensively. Cooper added 13 digs and 10 kills, while Worth recorded 34 assists, 10 digs, and five kills. Davis recorded 20 digs, while
Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor) added 12.
Kelley Vershbow led the Thoroughbreds with 13 kills, while Mallory Mendelsohn chipped in with 36 assists, 11 digs, and seven kills. Carolyn Bottelier added 21 digs.
Yesterday, RIT defeated Vassar and Union.
The Tigers will play their final regular season home match of the season on Tuesday, as they host St. John Fisher in a non-league match that gets underway at 7 p.m.
