ROCHESTER, NY - Junior outside hitter
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) became the 13th player in the history of the RIT volleyball program to surpass 1,000 career kills, as the Tigers (12-15, 2-3 Liberty League) defeated Vassar (15-10, 5-5 Liberty League) in four sets and Union (16-10, 4-4 Liberty League) on Friday evening at Clark Gym in Liberty League crossover action.
Moore, who came into the day with 996 kills, led the Tigers with 15 kills in the win over Vassar, as RIT won the first two sets, 25-18, 29-27, the lost set three 25-17, but rebounded to win the final set, 25-20.
Junior middle hitter
Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) slammed 10 kills and hit .588, chipping in with three blocks. Classmate
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 43 assists, recorded 10 digs, and led the squad with six assisted blocks.
Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) added 12 kills, while
Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) led the squad with 18 digs.
For Vassar, Chloe McGuire slammed a match-high 16 kills to go along with 15 digs. Hillary Koenigs dished out 41 assists.
RIT dominated the match against Union, winning 25-21, 25-11, 25-20. Moore and Wilson-Houck recorded 10 kills apiece, while Worth dished out 23 assists to go along with seven blocks, six digs, and five service aces.
Amanda White (Watertown, NY/Watertown) recorded a season-best six blocks along with three kills. Davis led the squad with 14 digs.
For Union, Eve Richards led the squad with 10 kills, while Marissa Volmer had 21 digs. Claire Kokoska added seven kills and three blocks.
Moore now has 1,021 kills in her RIT career.
The Tigers will also Bard at 11 a.m. and Skidmore at 1:30 p.m. in Liberty League action on Saturday at Clark Gym.
