Volleyball gets back on winning track with non-conference victory over SUNY Brockport

Moore now stands just four kills shy of becoming the 13th Tiger to record 100 in her career.

BROCKPORT, NY -
The RIT volleyball team (11-15) got back on the winning track on Tuesday evening, rolling to a 25-21, 25-14, 20-25, 25-21 win over SUNY Brockport in a non-conference match at Tuttle Gymnasium.

Junior outside hitter Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) led the Tigers with 18 kills, while hitting .325.  She now has 996 kills in her career, just four shy of becoming the 13th Tiger to reach 1,000.

Classmate Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 42 assists to go along with seven digs and three blocks.  Cat Sullivan (Lehman, PA/Lake-Lehman) recorded a season-best seven blocks to go along with four service aces, while Kyra Wilson-Houck (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) added 10 kills and seven digs.  Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) had eight kills, eight digs, and four blocks.  Defensively, Bethany Davis (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) led RIT with 19 digs, while Lauren Kraft (Lockport, NY/Holy Angels Academy) added 11.

The Tigers are right back in action on Friday, as they host Vassar and Union in a pair of crucial Liberty League contests on Friday evening at Clark Gym.  The Vassar match gets underway at 5 p.m., while the Union contest will begin at 7:30 p.m.
