ROCHESTER, NY - The No. 1 RIT women's hockey team (15-0-0) picked up its sixth shutout of the 2010-11 season and picked up its 15th consecutive victory, cruising to an 8-0 win over Adrian (8-4-1) on Saturday afternoon. Eight different players scored for the Tigers.
RIT scored twice in the first period, four times in the second period, and twice in the third. They scored two power-play tallies and two shorthanded goals. RIT out-shot Adrian, 45-16 in the win. RIT killed off all seven Adrian power-play attempts.

Read and Moss gave RIT a 2-0 lead after one period. Galbraith made it 3-0 Tigers 4:12 into the second period. Dagg and McCrea scored shorthanded goals just 32 seconds apart on the same Adrian power-play to make the score 5-0 RIT. Gemmiti tallied her sixth goal of the yearon a 5-on-3 power-play at the 12:19 mark of the period for a 6-0 lead. Schlattman and Hills scored goals 2:26 apart before the midway point of the third period to round out the scoring.

Carley King (Tinley Park, IL)# stopped all 16 shots she faced for her second shutout of the season and fifth of her career. She lowered her goals against average to 0.94 on the season and is 5-0-0.
RIT chased Adrian starting goaltender Emily Michelin after just 32 minutes, as she allowed six goals and made 27 saves. Ashley Drop stopped 10-of-12 shots over the final 27:41 for Adrian.
RIT continues its offensive onslaught, scoring at least five goals in a game for the 11th time this season. They are now out-scoring foes 90-13 in 15 contests.
The Tigers are now 4-0-0 all-time against Adrian. Last night, the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 4-2.
The Tigers return to conference play next weekend, as they travel to play Chatham in a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday.
