ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's basketball was defeated by No. 8 University of Rochester 79-40 in non-conference action on Tuesday evening from the Palestra. The loss drops the Tigers to 3-7 on the season, while Rochester improves to 9-1 on the season.
RIT shot just 29.1% from the floor on 16-of-55 shooting. The Tigers were 4-of-19 from behind the arc, and committed 24 turnovers. The Yellowjackets held a 61-32 rebounding edge.

Mallory Apperson (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove)# led RIT with a career-high 12 points. She was 6-of-13 from the floor and grabbed three rebounds.
Havens finished with nine points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal, and #
Courtney Tennant (Cortland, NY/Cortland)# added seven points and six rebounds.
RIT returns to action on Friday, January 7 when they host Stevens. Tip-off is at 6 pm at Clark Gymnasium.
