ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team finished the regular season in fine fashion beating Nazareth College 180-98 at Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers featured eight different winners and finish the season with an 8-3 record in dual meets.

RIT opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield), Bryan Minicucci (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield), Ryan Brennan and Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) won the event in a time of 1:39.09.

Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst High School), Steve Berus and Evan Wendt (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) each won multiple events. Rois won the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.62) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.12); and Berus won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.04) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.19). Wendt swept both diving events winning the one-meter with a score of 296.45 and the three-meter with a score of 302.05.

Other winners included Eric Madar (Suffern, NY/Suffern) in the 100-yard backstroke (58.32), Nate Morefield (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley High School) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:38.02), Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School) in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.53), Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield) in the 50-yard freestyle (22.00) and Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport) in the 100-yard freestyle (48.03).

RIT will compete next at the UNYSCSA Championships which begins on February 25 in Syracuse, New York.
