BUFFALO, NY – The fourth ranked RIT women's hockey team hung on to defeat Buffalo State College (9-13-1, 6-10-1 ECAC West) by a score of 4-3 on Friday afternoon at Buffalo State Ice Arena. The Tigers have now won seven straight and improve to 17-4-3 overall, and 12-3-2 in ECAC West play. Head Coach
Scott McDonald picked up his 79th career victory, tying Rob Scuteri for most wins at RIT.

Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks) and
Amanda Klassen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Warner Warriors)# tallied a goal and an assist apiece for the Tigers. Classmate #
Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge) and senior (Tinley Park, IL)Kelley Prom (Grafton, WI/Wisconsin Wild)# also tallied for RIT.
RIT out-shot Buffalo State, 34-11. The Tigers were 1-for-7 with the man-advantage, while Buffalo State was 1-for-6.
Marissa McMullan, Brianna Murphy, and Rio Flynn scored for the Bengals. Alyssa Koniar stopped 30 shots in defeat.
Buffalo State opened the scoring 9:01 into the game on a goal by McMullan. The Tigers tied the game at 1 at the 15:50 mark, as Stack tallied her national-best 29th goal of the season off an assist by #

Dagg and Klassen scored back-to-back goals in the second period to give RIT a 3-1 lead. Dagg's was her 15th of the season, while Klassen picked up her eighth goal of the year.
Dagg now has 42 points (15-27-42) in 2009-10, which leads the country.
Buffalo State cut the Tiger lead in half with a goal from Murphy with 59 seconds left in the period. Prom gave RIT its two goal lead back just 27 seconds later.
Neither team could muster much offense in the third period. RIT fired five shots, while Buffalo State had just three.
