UTICA, NY – Freshman forward #
Erin Zach (Elmira, Ontario/Cambridge Fury)# scored a pair of goals to lead the No. 3 women's hockey team (6-0-0, 4-0-0 ECAC West) to its sixth straight win to open the 2010-11 season, 4-1 over ECAC West rival Utica (3-2-0, 2-2-0 ECAC West) on Sunday afternoon.
RIT completed the weekend sweep over the Pioneers, also winning by a score of 5-2 on Saturday.

Kourtney Kunichika (Fullerton, CA/LA Selects) and
Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge)# tallied two points apiece in the win.
Zach opened the scoring just four minutes into the game, on the power-play, converting from in close off feeds from Kunichika and Stack to give RIT the early lead.
Utica answered back just over five minutes later on a goal by Megan Myers. The two teams ended the opening period tied at 1.
RIT scored three times in the second period and dominated the final 40 minutes, out-shooting Utica, 30-6 during that stretch.

Liz Gemmiti (Toronto, Ontario/Brampton Thunder)# scored her first collegiate goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, 2:58 into the second period, blasting a shot home off assists from Kunichika and #
Ariane Yokoyama (Van Nuys, CA/LA Selects)#.
Stack gave RIT a 3-1 lead midway through the period, recording her fifth goal of the season. #
Tenecia Hiller (Brampton, Ontario/Brampton Thunder) and
Kristina Moss (Webster, NY/Buffalo Bisons)# assisted on the goal, Stack's 66th of her career at RIT. Hiller recorded her first collegiate hat-trick on Saturday.
Zach completed the scoring with 5:48 left in the second period, taking a feed from #
Traci Galbraith (Oakville, Ontario/Burlington Jr. Barracudas)#, walking and in scoring her second goal of the game, shorthanded, for her fifth tally of the season.
RIT out-shot Utica, 41-13. Freshman netminder #
Laura Chamberlain (Norco, CA/LA Selects)# recorded her fifth win of the season, stopping 12 shots. Jennifer Hamel made 37 saves in defeat for Utica.
RIT was 1-for-7 with the power-play, while Utica was 0-for-6 with the man-advantage.
The Tigers are off to a tremendous start this season, outscoring their opposition, 33-4 in six contests this season.
RIT has now won seven straight over the Pioneers and lead the all-time series between the two schools, 11-2.
RIT returns to action next Friday and Saturday, as they host ECAC West rival SUNY Potsdam. Friday's game gets underway at 7 p.m.
