ONEONTA, NY - The RIT wrestling team dropped its opening dual meet of the 2010-11 season, 27-6 at SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday evening. Freshmen #
Mike Nguyen (Syracuse, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) and sophomore (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney)Tyler Brent (Gasport, NY/Royalton-Hartland)# picked up RIT's lone wins of the evening.
Nguyen gave RIT the early 3-0 lead at 125 lbs., securing a 4-3 decision over David Bailen. Brent defeated Brian Kramer in another tight match, 2-0.
After Nguyen's victory, the Red Dragons won six straight matches to take control.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, as they travel to SUNY Oswego for a dual match that gets underway at 1 p.m.
