Women's volleyball wins two at Clarkson tournament; Moore named to All-Tournament Team

POTSDAM, NY -- The RIT women's volleyball team won twice on Saturday at the Clarkson University Tournament. The Tigers defeated St. Lawrence University 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-16) in match one and downed SUNY Plattsburgh 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21) in match two. The wins improve the Tigers to 19-7 on the season.  Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Versus St. Lawrence, the Tigers were led by the trio of Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan), Jessica Schaffer (Wellington, OH/Keystone) and Moore. Cooper had 12 kills, 19 digs, three assists and two blocks. Schaffer led RIT with 16 kills and had 14 digs and two blocks. Moore had 12 kills, 15 digs and two blocks. Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) added 47 assists and three kills.

Moore continued her strong play versus Plattsburgh tallying 16 kills and six digs. Schaffer and Cooper each had seven kills for the Tigers and Worth dished out 33 assists to go along with four kills, six digs and two blocks.

The Tigers will host SUNY Brockport on Tuesday, October 12 at 7 pm at Clark Gymnasium.
