ROCHESTER, NY – Junior forward #
Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge)# scored with 1:55 left in regulation to lift the No. 4 RIT women's hockey team (7-1-3, 3-0-2 ECAC West) to a 3-3 tie against No. 3 Elmira (10-3-1, 5-2-1 ECAC West) in ECAC West action at Ritter Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Ali Hills (Honeoye Falls, NY)# in the neutral zone, sped down the left wing, and fired a shot that snuck past Elmira goaltender Lauren Sullivan to the short side. The goal was Stack's 13th of the season.
Elmira led 2-1 after two periods of play. #
Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks)# tied the game at 2, just 1:18 into the final frame, on the power-play, as her shot from the high slot eluded Sullivan, who was screened on the play. Stack and #

The Soaring Eagles answered right back and took their third lead of the afternoon, 3-2, as Jillayne DeBus converted a nice feed from Karen Colehour in close, and slid the puck between the pads of Tiger goaltender #

RIT out-shot Elmira, 34-25, including 4-2 in overtime. #
Kylie Mazzetta (Lakewood, CO/Colorado Selects)# nearly won it for RIT just before time expired, as her slap-shot from the left face-off circle bounced off Sullivan and slid just wide of the goal.
Torgerson made a big save moments earlier in overtime, sliding across to rob Lauryn DePaul, who was crashing the net.
Sullivan made 31 saves for Elmira, who have now played three of the top-five teams (No. 5 Middlebury, No. 1 Amherst, and No. 4 RIT in its last three games, spanning six days.
Torgerson stopped 22 shots for the Tigers, who have a three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1).
RIT was 1-for-2 with the man-advantage, while holding Elmira to one goal in seven power-play attempts. RIT also hit two crossbars while shorthanded. RIT killed off 1:20 of an Elmira power-play in overtime, before the Soaring Eagles took a penalty to negate the advantage.
Elmira scored the lone goal in a tightly contested first period.
Kathryn Walker's shot from the left point was going wide, but hit a Tiger defenseman in front and got past Torgerson to give the Soaring Eagles a 1-0 lead, 8:32 into the contest.
Torgerson made a great save earlier in the period, robbing DePaul on a partial breakaway. DePaul went left to right on the backhand, and Torgerson stood her ground, letting the puck hit her right in the chest.
Hills tied the game for the Tigers, 4:42 into the second period, stealing a puck along the boards in the neutral zone, skating in the left wing and ripping a wicked wrist shot over the glove of Sullivan for her fourth goal of the season.
Stack had a golden chance to give RIT its first lead of the afternoon a few minutes later, while shorthanded. She intercepted an Elmira clearing attempt swung around the face-off circle, cleanly beat Sullivan with a high shot that rang off the crossbar.
RIT's #
Megan Kobar (Calgary, Alberta)# also hit a crossbar midway through the third period from in close.
Elmira leads the all-time series between the two schools, 7-2-2. Both of RIT's wins over Elmira have come at Ritter Arena, 3-2 on Jan. 17, 2007, and 4-1 on Dec. 1, 2007.
The two teams conclude their season series on Sunday, once again at Ritter Arena. The puck drops at 2 p.m.
