ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's basketball team led by as many as eleven points in the second half, but failed to hold the lead losing to Ithaca College (15-4, 10-0 E8) 82-57 in Empire 8 action on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers fall to 8-10 overall and 2-7 in the Empire 8.

Leslie Havens (Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton)# who scored 18 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists. #
Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool)# chipped in 11 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks off the bench, while #
Danielle Furman (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport)# added 10 points.
The Tigers trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half, but closed out the half with a 23-9 run leading 33-29 at the break. Havens paced the Tigers wit 11 first-half points.

RIT scored 11 of the second half's first 15 points taking a 44-33 lead on a layup by
Sharon Dennis (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool). That gave the Tigers their largest lead of the game.
The Bombers, led by Kathy Bixby's 14 second half points, stormed back outscoring RIT 49-13 over the final 14:18 to win their tenth Empire 8 game of the season.
RIT returns to action on Tuesday, February 2 when they host Empire 8 and cross-town rival St. John Fisher. Tip-off is at 6 pm in Clark Gymnasium.
